In the biggest heist, thieves have struck at a heavy machinery hire business in Hume Street Goulburn.

They have made off with a Drake quad axle low loader, an excavator and two buckets, worth a total of more than $350,000.

At Exeter a sledge hammer has been used to bludgeon entry to a shipping container at a construction site, near  the intersection of Bundanoon and Ringwood Roads.

$20,000 worth of tools have been taken including a Kanga Hammer, rattle gun, an angle grinder, laser levels,  saws and drills.

So much equipment was taken police believe a ute or a small truck would have been used to cart away the haul.

In the last few months well over half a million dollars worth of equipment has been taken in a series of raids on the southern highlands and southern tablelands.
