Goulburn Mulwaree councillors have point blank accepted their planners recommendation to question an application for a quarry at Boxers Creek, north of the city.

The council is notifying the Department of Planning and Environment of a number of matters which should be considered, including road and traffic impacts and the suitability of the site.

A basalt quarry is being proposed at 63 Curlewin Lane, Boxers Creek, otherwise known as Tyces Lane Quarry.

Concerns will also be raised in relation to the history of previous unsuccessful applications for extractive industries at the site.

Advice to Planning and Environment NSW says the current application may be considered an abuse of process with the proposal being unreasonable and not in the public interest.
