Two to three inches of snow, perhaps a little more fell in Goulburn overnight.

At two o'clock this morning, snow was falling freely resulting in road verges and median strips covered with a healthy white blanket.

Tree branches at the side of the road, in some locations were bowed over under the weight of the snow.

Up to six o'clock this morning the Weather Bureau says Goulburn has received 16.8 millimetres of rain since 9am yesterday.

The first time overnight the temperature was nearest to zero was at half past twelve this morning... point one of a felt like minus three.
