Negotiations are continuing between the Upper Lachlan Shire Council and Roads and Maritime Services which will lead to the construction of the new Kiamma Creek bridge.

Council's Acting General Manager, Andrew Croke says a request has been made of RMS to upgrade the intersection of Goulburn street and Laggan road in conjunction with the bridge replacement.

Council is waiting for a resolution to these talks which is hoped for shortly.

Mr Croke says all preliminary work including designs, geotechnical reports and tender documentation is complete.

Work at the intersection of Goulburn street and Laggan road is seen as making the million dollar construction of the new two-lane concrete bridge, more complete.
