The Goulburn Mulwaree Council is hoping to be able to put its case for the re-classification of some busy roads within its boundaries, as part of a state-wide review.

NSW transport authorities are to conduct the review which will also look at associated asset ownership and management.

The road to Taralga and Highland Way at Marulan are listed as regional roads but council is hoping for state road status.

Goulburn Mulwaree General Manager, Warrick Bennett says there are high traffic counts on other local routes.
