Goulburn Mulwaree mayor, Bob Kirk has wholeheartedly welcomed heritage funding from the NSW government.

State member, Wendy Tuckerman has announced $89,000 to local government areas in the south and includes work on the St Clair Villa Museum and Archives Interpretation Plan.

Mayor Kirk says the community puts great value on local heritage and the money from the Heritage Grant Programme would help protect and maintain it.

The money also helps council's Small Grants programme and Heritage Advisor services.

Funding has also gone to Upper Lachlan, Yass Valley, Wingecarribee and Hill Tops councils.
