The principal of the Goulburn Police Academy, Rod Smith has been recognised in this year's Queens Birthday Honours List.

 

He is one of several locals to be honoured and has been congratulated by NSW Police commissioner, Mick Fuller for his loyal and outstanding commitment to the community and the Force.

 

He has been awarded the Australian Police Medal.

 

Others to receive Order of Australia status are Tony Cockburn for his work with youth, most notably with the Australian Army Cadets.

 

The late Bob Thurling has been recognised for his service to the Goulburn community over many years.

 

Not only was he prominent in work in the local court, but also with the Mary, Queen of Apostles parish.

 

Mark Brandon-Baker has received Queens birthday honours recognition for services to the community of Canberra.
