The governor-designate of NSW, the Honourable Margaret Beazley will visit Goulburn in May to celebrate the arrival of the railway 150 years ago.

 

Members of the Goulburn Loco Roundhouse Preservation Society are organising the commemorative event.

 

The 27th of May, 1869 is the day when the first passenger rail service arrived in Goulburn.

 

Preservation society secretary, Terrence Carpenter says the governor and other officials will travel down to Goulburn in May, by train, for an official ceremony.
