Both Goulburn police and local council officers will target school crossings and parking as Term three for schools starts next week.

Goulburn Mulwaree council rangers will be patrolling school zones in the first weeks of students returning to ensure that pedestrians and traffic are adhering to the rules.

The campaign is being led by Road Safety Officer, Tracey Norberg and she is encouraging motorists to observe the meaning of the orange flags at crossings.

She says cars cannot stop on or within 20 metres before or 10 metres after a childrens' crossing.

The council campaign will be supported by local police.
